Bulawayo Man Shot & Killed By Police In Front Of His Girlfriend
Bulawayo – A 34-year-old Bulawayo man identified as Paul Munakopa was fatally shot by the Zimbabwe Republic Police officers in full view on his better half, Tracy Mufudzi.
Recently national police representative, Assistant Paul Nyathi affirmed the occurrence and said the couple was approached by the police and the community neighborhood watch before they took off in their vehicle, bringing about a highspeed pursue.
A shootout followed after the Honda Fit the couple was driving hit the cop’s car, which brought about Munakopa’s injury and later on, his demise. Commissioner Nyathi said Munakopa and his sweetheart were supposedly discovered stripped at the scene.
Mufudzi revealed that when he showed up at the shooting scene after he got a call from his sister, two white men leaped out of the vehicle wearing caps and handkerchiefs as masks.
“I heard from my sister that you couldn’t see their faces, only their eyes were visible. These two guys approached the (Honda) Fit and started banging on the bonnet, and I understand at this time Paul again tried to reverse away,” Mufudzi said
Two cops are said to have got out of the vehicle and began shooting, then hit Munakopa on the hand, bringing about him losing control of the vehicle, which landed in a dump. One of the cops is affirmed to have forcibly broken a window and pulled Munakopa out of the vehicle.
Mufudzi further claimed the cops at the shooting scene didn’t introduce themselves to the family.
The 2 white men were permitted to drive off from the scene but the family met them again at Hillside Police Station, along with the other cops, giving explanations.
“They actually put my sister in one room with those officers who did the shooting and the two white guys. The officer in charge at the police station arrived moments later to take statements,” Mufudzi added.
Mufudzi apparently took recordings at the scene and one of the men, accepted to be a cop requested him to quit shooting the entire episode.
Assistance Commissioner Nyathi has said there were a few dubious realities about the Honda Fit and more subtleties would be discharged soon.
