Harare – Zimbabwean billionaire Strive Masiyiwa is coming to the rescue for the country again after donating several mobile hand wash basins which will be installed all over the city of Harare.

The basins, that follow Rwanda’s mobile basins are meant to raise hygiene standards and possibly help limit the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Over the last few weeks Zimbabweans had been sharing images from Rwanda, where basins had been installed at all public bus terminuses and several other public places.

The government has flooded its capital Kigali, with portable sinks and hand sanitizers almost at every public space — churches, restaurants, banks and shops.

The portable sinks and hand sanitisers, shown in a viral video, are labelled with Eco-sure signs.

It is the second time that Strive Masiyiwa has come to the rescue for Zimbabwe’s troubled public health facilities and systems this year.

He negotiated and brokered a deal that saw doctors return to work after a near year long strike.

In the past, Masiyiwa has led the fight against Cholera and Typhoid, often injecting more money into the health system than foreign governments and donors.
