Just in: ZHDA goes on strike


Zimbabwe Hospitals Doctors association (ZHDA) today has issued a statement to government that with immediate from September 3 2019 they will not be reporting to work because they are incapacitated.

“This letter serves as a notice that starting from September 3 2019, doctors at Impilo Bulawayo United, Parirenyatwa Group, Harare and Chitungwiza central hospitals are not going to report to work.

“We simply do not have the means to come to continue coming to work because the salary is not sufficient,” read the statement.

ZHDA reiterated that all efforts to engage government to insulate doctors from the high cost of living had been futile exposing them to incapacitation.

The doctors association also warned government that they would not report for duty until their salaries were adjusted to meet the Interbank rate based on the prevailing market forces of the day.
