Prominent modelling director, based in Capetown, South Africa Maynard Chizavare was arrested in December last year on allegations of rape and child molestation
According to state documents seen by Mail and Telegraph, Chizavare, 33, was sharing an apartment and is alleged to have inserted his finger inside a minor.
The Miss Zimbabwe Capetown founder was denied bail after he argued that he did not penetrate the minor (Name withheld) using his manhood, he says he only used his finger.
Contrary to Chizavare’s argument, in South African Law, this is regarded as rape. According to the Sexual Offences and Related Matters Amendment Act, No. 32 of 2007 which came into effect on December 16, 2007 after being signed into law by then president, Thabo Mbeki,
”sexual penetration now includes any act which causes penetration to any extent whatsoever by (a) the genital organs of one person into or beyond the genital organs, anus, or mouth of another person;
(b) any other part of the body of one person or, any object, including any part of the body of an animal, into or beyond the genital organs or anus of another person;
(c) the genital organs of an animal, into or beyond the mouth of another person.”
We could not get in touch with Mr Chizavare, who is currently under custody of the State at Pollsmoor maximum Prison.
Maynard’s girlfriend refused to comment.
His case is expected to return to court for trial in September 2019.
