MDC youth assembly has accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration for plotting to crush mass demonstrations scheduled on the 16 of August next week in Harare.

The opposition youth assembly rubbished Defense minister Oppah Muchinguri’s statements that there was a third hand behind August 1 2018 killings, while exonerating the military role, as a covert ploy to declare a state of emergency in the wake of mass demonstrations.

“It is clear that there is a general disapproval of Emmerson Mnangagw from every quarters and public anger is reaching an untold boiling point, hence the statement’s hatched plan to plant authors of chaos during MDC demonstrations.

“The unforunate statements by Muchinguri made at Bazeley Bridge in Zimunya Marange over the weekend to black mail a none existent third force while absolving the army should never be taken lightly at a time MDC is plotting massive demonstrations against the military regime failure to arrest the current economic malaise,” read the youth assembly press statement.

MDC youth assembly alleged that government’s plot to declare a state of emergency was a ploy to prolong the inevitable and keep Mnangagwa in power at a time his regime has failef to remedy the escalated economic crisis.

The opposition youth assembly argued the Constitution was crystal clear that only the Commander in Chief can deploy the military.

Moreso, the Monlanthe Commision findings fingered Mnanagwa and the military as the perptrators of August 1 2018 killings absolving the none existent third hand.
