Air Zimbabwe has taken delivery of an Ambraer plane in a development that will see the airline going to other routes.
The airline had one airline, the delivery of the new plane will now make them two.
Addressing journalists at a post cabinet briefing, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Minister Monica Mutsvangwa said the plane was delivered yesterday morning.
“The Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development informed Cabinet that the long awaited Ambraer Plane has now been delivered in the country, having landed at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport around 9.00 a.m. this morning,” she said.
She said the delivery of the plane marks efforts to revive the national airline.
“This marks a significant step in efforts to revive the national airline, Air Zimbabwe,” she said.
The Airline has been struggling with debt for years.
