HARARE-Development Trust of Zimbabwe (DTZ) is on the verge of developing a huge sugar cane plantation at Muanetsi Ranch to increase the production of ethanol, an official has said.
At the Inaugural Development Trust of Zimbabwe Board of Trustees Meeting held today at Munhumutapa Building in Harare, the chairman said the DTZ is hoping to develop a hundred thousand hectares sugar cane plantation for more ethanol production.
“It is envisaged to develop a 100 000 hectares sugar cane plantation for ethanol production at Nuanetsi Ranch, ” he said.
The sugar cane plantation’s construction is going to be done at the Nuenetsi Ranch and it is the major project set by the board of directors
“An ethanol plant is also to be constructed at Nuanetsi Ranch. This is a major to be developed by the incoming Board of Directors of Nuanetsi Ranch, ” he said.
The commercial activities at the Nuanetsi Ranch include game farming, photographic safaris, crocodile farming, and cattle ranching.
The Nuanetsi Ranch is situated in the Southeastern lowveld of Zimbabwe and it is one of the largest privately owned conservatives in Africa.
