Mail and Telegraph can exclusively review that Dorcus Dorothy Chisero of Vantage Home and Health Care has been practicing medicine illegally since October 2017 and is on the run after suspecting that she her cover has been blown.

Chisero well known for having an explicit affair with former President’s nephew Robert Zhuwao, uses a different name on social media (Savannah Samakande), but both her names were not found registered in the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ) database.

After a whistle blower told this publication that she was leaking patients’ information, we carried out an investigation to find out whether the alleged person was really a doctor or not.

Documents seen by Mail and Telegraph reviewed that she was offering rehabilitation and palliative healthcare services at No 12 Lomagundi in Mt Pleasant in Harare.

According to a source, Chisero went to a medical school in United Kingdom but was then repelled after being accused of committing perjury.

She then came back to Zimbabwe and started a palliative health care centre in Mount Pleasant but did not register it with the Authorities.

It is also believed that she used her relationship with Zhuwao to get the Authorities off the hook on her facility.

It was then reviewed that Chisero was not a medical doctor nor was she allowed to practice medicine in Zimbabwe as required by the law.

The provisions of Section 92, of the Health Professions Act of Zimbabwe restricts any person to practice medicine without a valid practicing certificate by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ)

MDPCZ and Health Professions Authority (HPA) told Mail and Telegraph that Chisero was not a registered medical practitioner neither was her institution registered by the council.

“A search on our register of medical practitioners maintained by the Council does not reveal the name of Dr Dorothy Dorcas Chisero hence she is not registered with the Council”

According to the Health Professions Act, any medical practitioner who wishes to practice medicine in Zimbabwe should be registered with MDPCZ and should be issued a practicing certificate is valid for not more than 12 months.

On the documents seen by Mail and Telegraph, Chisero claimed highly recognized in the community for forensic mental health, holder of a Masters of Medicine, Diploma in Mental Health (UK) and Palliative Care (UCT).

She also claimed to have worked for a number of organizations as a medical doctor among them Parirenyatwa Hospital and Harare Hospital among others.

Edson Mundenda, Operations Director for Parirenyatwa Group of Hospital dismissed the claims, saying they do not hire any external doctors to do consultation for them.
