A Harare lawyer has been hauled before court on fraud charges after having sold his property which was attached by the High Court, the court heard.
Puwai Chiuyai sold the property to an unsuspecting client for $230 000.
He appeared before Harare magistrate Vongai Guuriro Muchuchuti facing fraud charges.
Chiuyai who is being represented by Admire Rubaya was not asked to plead when he appeared before court and his bail ruling is yet to be delivered although the State did not oppose him being granted bail.
Prosecuting Sebastian Mutizirwa alleges that sometime in 2017 the accused’s property called the remainder of subdivision of it’s Lots.
The land was sold to Bariade Investments Pvt LTD.
The accused lost the ownership of the property and tried to appeal at the High Court but all his appeals were trashed, even at the Supreme Court
Knowing that the property had already been sold by the High Court Sheriff, Chiutsi approached the complainant and told her that his property was up for sale leading to the sale.
