Johannesburg- There were huge sighs of relief in Alexandra this evening as residents, rescue effort cordinators, disaster management officials and charitable organisations welcomed a life saving R400,000 donation by a Pretoria based Prophet, Shepherd Bushiri.
A fire tore through a densely populated section of the high density surburb, leaving 352 homes destroyed and over 650 homeless.
Women and vulnerable children make up the majority of the affected.
Speaking while touring the area, Bushiri told reporters that he had come to offer support, love and prayers.
But, it appears his heart was moved by the heartbreaking scenes.
Speaking after the tour, Bushiri told about 300 people who had gathered that he would make sure the children are clothed, fed and ready to return to school.
