Harare – Minister of Defence Oppah Muchinguri is currently undergoing treatment for the injuries that she sustained during the Bulawayo bomb incident, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said.
Speaking at a thank you rally in Mwenenzi on Saturday P Mnangagwa said Muchinguri had to go for a checkup and could not attend the event.
“You may ask why some of our senior politburo member are not here, we have our national chairwoman Mrs Muchinguri-Kashiri.
“When the Bulawayo incident happened, when a bomb was thrown Mrs (Marble) Chinomona and Vice President Kembo Mohadi injured.
“Mrs Muchinguri is not here because she went for a checkup on the injuries that she sustained in Bulawayo,” he said.
President Mnangagwa said Vice President Mohadi had accompanied him and Vice President Contentino Chiwenga was not feeling well.
“I came here with Vice President Mohadi, Vice President Chiwenga is not feeling well,” he said.
Meanwhile President Mnangagwa said the initial dialogue meeting that was held at state house last week was successful.
“Last week I called for a dialogue with political parties, I told them that elections are now over and that we must be United so that we can go forward.
“We held a successful dialogue meeting.
“Out of 23 political parties which participated in the 2018 harmonised elections, most of them came and only MDCAlliance did not come, they are lost,” he said.
