A Harare man who was implicated in participation in the #Shutdownzim demos has been set free by the court.

The owner of Nyambo Medical Center situated in Hatcliffe in Harare has been hauled before the courts on allegations of fraud and he has been released on $1 500 bail.

Doctor Jackson Nyambo, a practicing medical doctor  was remanded to January 12 by a Harare magistrate.

Allegations are that on November 11 2016, Munyaradzi Family Trust through its company Datfin Private Limited entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Nyambo. Datfin was contracted to construct a 200 metre long tarred road on a newly subdivided piece of land called subdivision 7 of Quinnington of Borrowdale Estates at a total cost of $110 857.

The agreement was that Nyambo would pay an initial deposit of $20 000 and the agents commission of $5 540 payable upon signing of the MOU whilst another $25 875 was to be paid before November 30 and all these payments were duly made by Nyambo.

Nyambo then engaged a real estate agency to draft an agreement of sale for the same property and he ceded ownership and rights of the property even though he had no deeds for the area as it was not developed.

After completion of the work by Daftin, Nyambo then obtained the certificate of compliance from the City of Harare but he did not inform Daftin of these developments.

Instead, he sold the land in question to someone else for $84 000 and he transferred ownership to them.

The offense came to light when Daftin  representative went on the said land only to be told that it had been sold off to someone else without their knowledge and without the remaining $65 000 of the agreed amount had been paid off to clear the debt.
