Government has set aside $310 million to ensure that wholesale changes to the national governance architecture which will be brought about by devolution of power and authority is realized.
Each province is set to receive $31 million to aid in investment and economic responsibilities and growth of the country’s 10 provinces.
Mnangagwa, who promised to devolve power during his 2018 campaign trail told a Zanu PF Central Committee meeting on Wednesday morning that with the $310 million disbursement his devolution pledge would be fulfilled in the shortest possible time.
He, however, urged that the funds be used to grow and develop the provinces.
He said government would soon be calculating each province’s GDP to assess how far funds are being utilized.
There has been suggestions that provinces will be assigned specific economic responsibilities in order to individually contribute to national economic development.
