Jah Signal goes uptown, launches album at Sankai


Harare – Man of the Moment and dancehall chanter Jah Signal’s star keeps on rising and his music has permeated the social strata.

The Stonyeni hitmaker was only a hero in the ghetto but now he is taking his music to the uptown where he has managed to get a huge fanbase.

The 23 year old musician will launch his debut album titled Jaya at upmarkert club Sankai in the capital tonight in a classy affair. The 15-track album was produced by Marcelo and Oskid.

His management told this publication that the album carries several collaborations.

“The album carries 15 tracks and there is a rare collaboration between him and Nicholas Zacharia and also a remix of ‘Mubako’ which was producd iin South Africa,” he said.

It comes as a shock that the young artiste had no album to his name yet he ‘rules’ the airwaves at the moment.

His management said they did not rush to make an album because they were waiting for such time when the market is ready.

“We were appetizing the market and now its the right time and fans will not be disappointed,” he explained.

He has over 50 singles among them “Tirarira”, “Mkwasha Imboko”, “Ganda Idema”, “Kunzungu Nekunyimo”, “Rure Rure”, “Rudo”, “Tisvike”, “Ndezvepasi”, “Ku Gombwe”, “Dai Mandiudza” and “Yatanga Hondo”, to name a few.

Tonight’s event is being coordinated by popular events manager Wanisayi Mutandwa.
