Harare – The Warriors will tonight march into the giant National Sports Stadium looking for nothing but victory to secure the place in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals to be hosted by Cameroon.
The Warriors stunned the highly fancied Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in their Kinshasa fortress, on Saturday night with a 2-1 victory. Victory for the Warriors in tonight’s high profile group D encounter will secure them yet another dance with the African Cup of Nations with a game to spare.
The match which kicks off at 7pm will see the Warriors battling it out without their talismanic skipper Knowledge Musona who saw red in DRC.
Even without Musona and goal-minder George Chigove, the Warriors are banking on home support as thousands of supporters are likely to throng the National Sports Stadium.
Ovidy Karuru is likely to replace Musona while Edmore Sibanda is expected to be slotted in for Chigova.
Goals from Ronald Pfumbidzai and Musona were enough to give the warriors three points despite a Yannick Bolasie consolation after Musona was red carded.
